Darlington Arts Festival Kids Activities
Darlington Arts Festival

For Juniors

There are heaps of things to do at Darlington Arts Festival for our budding artists. The Workshop Village is a busy, creative hub for young festival-goers. Stay tuned for this year’s workshop line-up.

This year we are trying something new with a chill zone setup at the Post Office end of the outdoor sculpture exhibition. Wander through Sculpture on the Scarp with the kids, have an ice cream or a quick and easy bite to eat from our family friendly food truck and chill out on the couches away from the crowds under our festival umbrellas. Buskers will be entertaining you throughout the weekend.

The younger kids can have a go at making some junk instruments and jam with Junkadelic, take a trip to Fairyland and watch in awe as Curator Jina Lee demonstrates her craft of stone carving from 3-5pm on Saturday.

Keep an eye out for the NoiseBin coming alive with a light and sound show!

There are many stalls to see, and many stallholders have activities and stories to tell to youngsters. Get excited for a fun ride (electric bumper cars are a hit!), interactive and entertaining performances on our Main Stage, checking out the community groups your kids will one day lead, exploring the outdoor sculpture exhibition, and checking out the artwork created by ‘the big kids’ in the Mezzanine of Darlington Hall.

Our Junior Art Exhibition is always a delight. It is open to all artists aged 4 to 12 and is not to be missed. You’ll see all sorts of art, including painting, sketching, 3D artwork, and collage. You’ll find the Junior Art tent just outside the Darlington Hall.
